A Few of My Favorite Things
I've had my camera for years and have traveled around the world with it so it has come to mean a lot to me. My Flagler key chain represents Flagler and how much I have come to love this place. I got the Salvador Dali book mark when I went to visit his museum and he is one of the reasons why I love art so much. The feather represents animals which I have always been fascinated by. The sun glasses represents being outdoors and getting some sun which is one of my favorite things about living in St. Augustine.
Simulated Texture
This realistic painting uses simulated texture to make the hair on this baby elephant seem as though the audience would be able to touch and feel it. This makes the baby elephant almost come to life. This painting would not have the same tangible quality without having the hair so realistic. The hair gave the painting a sense of texture.
Actual Texture
This artist made his painting take shape by making the paint itself standout. The clouds, flowers, sun, and trees were formed using globs of paint. The artist made the paint the texture of this painting to create a more tangible effect.
Repetition
The artist created a pattern using only the dancer. Each dancer is identical, besides coloring. White and black are the only colors used and the dancer is repeated over and over to create this. Using repetition, the artist was able to make a single image into an entire design.
Asymmetry
No two waves are alike and neither are any of the waves in this painting. There is no dividing like which would allow for symmetry. Even though there is no symmetry there is still an asymmetric balance.

Symmetry
The opposite sides of the dividing line in the middle are the same. Even though the sky, shading, and landscape are slightly different, the heads are mirroring each other to create a symmetric balance.

Scale
Even though the man seated is closer, he is clearly much smaller than this statue of a giant eye. The statue stands tall to make a point. The artist was using the dramatic scale to make an impression on the much smaller audience.
Geometric Shape
Salvador Dali's painting uses geometric patterning to form the image of a lion. Even though this work is abstract he still incorporated squares and triangles to make the image appear geometric.
Organic Shape
This piece of furniture was made to be viewed as organic rather than manufactured. By using wood coloring and white to give it more natural coloring, It has no straight lines and appears fluid. This free flowing structure was made to resemble the motion of waves.
Rectilinear Line
This painting is organized into a pattern of squares. These squares are formed from the straight lines which separate them. Causing them to be rectilinear.

Organic Line
The lines in this painting are free of form and fluid. It also has no straight lines.
